Persona Doll Groups

Life-sized Persona Dolls are used as a tool to teach young children emotional literacy, in a group setting. The practitioner creates a persona for the doll (a name, context and feelings) to encourage children to talk about their own experiences and feelings. Engaging directly with the doll makes it easier for children to talk about difficult experiences and feelings, and in turn it develops the children's emotional literacy. We offer persona doll groups within our Ububele pre-school, and in Alex community schools when the need arises.
