Ububele’s training in mental health centres on preventative strategies for children under the age of seven, their parents and other caregivers. Ububele prepares, field-tests and offers training programmes which are informed by a blend of Western psychoanalytic thinking and African indigenous knowledge systems.

Thinking about the Early Child

This is a course in child development for child care workers and early childhood development practitioners. The purpose is to introduce child care workers and early childhood development practitioners to the emotional aspects of teaching, learning and development with children under the age of seven. It explores the emotional world of the child, from pregnancy through the first few years of life. In addition, the course aims to facilitate self-awareness and growth in the workers themselves in order to increase sensitivity and thoughtfulness in their work.
